That’s why we launched our brand in 2020, with a focus on designing high-quality bassinets that prioritize safety, comfort and convenience. Our flagship product is the Vavasoo Rocking Bassinet, which combines the soothing motion of rocking with the snug, secure feeling of a bassinet.
Our Origin Story
Vavasoo was founded by John and Jane Smith, a husband and wife team with a shared passion for innovation and helping families. As new parents, John and Jane struggled to get their own newborn to sleep soundly through the night. They tried every bassinet, cradle, and sleeping gadget on the market, but nothing seemed to work.
After many sleepless nights, John had an idea. What if there was a bassinet that could gently rock baby to sleep, like a rocking chair? He envisioned a bassinet atop a stable base that parents could rock at the push of a foot. Jane’s design expertise helped turn this idea into a reality.
In 2020, after months of perfecting prototypes, Vavasoo® Rocking Bassinet was born. John and Jane were thrilled when their own little one finally slept through the night thanks to their rocking bassinet creation. They knew then that they had to share this product with parents everywhere.
Our Design Philosophy
At Vavasoo, we believe that safety and comfort should be the top priorities in bassinet design. A bassinet needs to be completely secure and free of any hazardous gaps or edges. It also needs to be soothing and cozy for baby. That’s why we pay so much attention to things like:
- Breathable, hypoallergenic fabrics – All our mattress covers and sheets are made of soft, breathable cotton or polyester to prevent overheating.
- Firm, flat mattresses – Our bassinet mattresses provide solid, flat support recommended for infants. No dangerous angles or indentations.
- Stable rocking base – Our unique rocking mechanism rocks smoothly and securely. The four-point base prevents tipping in any direction.
- Adjustable features – Parents can customize the rocking speed and angle to baby’s preferences. The attached canopy provides shade when needed.
- Quality materials – We use sturdy but lightweight woods, plastics and metals to ensure durability and longevity.
In addition to safety and comfort, we also focus on making our bassinets as convenient as possible for sleep-deprived parents. Our rocking function, collapsible design and adjustable features make our products easy to use and move around the home.

We currently offer two main bassinet models:
Vavasoo Rocking Bassinet
This is our original, award-winning rocking bassinet. It features a stable 4-point rocking base and breathable polyester mattress. The rocking speed and angle are adjustable with conveniently located dials. This bassinet folds flat for storage or travel.
Vavasoo Luxury Rocking Bassinet
This is a larger, upgraded version of our original rocking bassinet. It has all the same safety features and rocking functions, but with more premium details like:

Our Testing and Safety Standards
At Vavasoo, we adhere to the most stringent bassinet safety guidelines outlined by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), JPMA Certified and more.
We rigorously test all our products in-house and also enlist 3rd party labs to assess for safety and durability. We test for:
- Structural integrity under weight and pressure
- Suffocation and entrapment risks
- Toxicity of materials
- Finishing rough spots or edges
- Mattress firmness and dimensions
- Canopy string length and attachment safety
- Rocking angles and tip-over risk
Vavasoo bassinets are certified free of BPAs, lead and phthalates. We also meet flammability standards for all fabrics and materials.

Since we’re parents too, we know how precious (and how short!) sleep is in those early parenting days. That’s why we offer a 100-night trial on all our bassinets. If you’re not fully satisfied, return it for a full refund – no questions asked.
We also provide a 2-year warranty against any manufacturer defects. Parts and excellent customer service are readily available if any issues arise.
